Platform fees stack rather than replace one another, which is why a single headline percentage rarely predicts your payout. A typical marketplace order carries a listing or insertion fee charged when you publish, a commission on the order total that often includes the shipping you charged the buyer, and payment processing on the full amount the customer paid. Promoted listings or offsite ads can add a further cut when they are credited with the sale. Percentages also apply to different bases, so they cannot simply be summed. Rates change by category, seller country, and currency, and cross-border orders usually carry a conversion spread — check the platform’s current fee page and a recent real payout before repricing your catalogue.
