How Poshmark fees work

Poshmark uses a tiered commission instead of a flat percentage on every sale. Orders under $15 pay a flat $2.95 fee. Orders $15 and above pay 20% of the sale price. There is no separate listing fee — you can publish closets freely and pay only when items sell. The buyer typically pays shipping through Poshmark’s prepaid label flow; the commission applies to your listed sale price, not the shipping amount the buyer pays separately in most US flows.

The sub-$15 flat fee punishes low-price closet cleanouts. A $12 sale pays $2.95 (~24.6% effective). A $14.99 sale also pays $2.95 (~19.7%). At exactly $15, the fee jumps to $3.00 (20%) — and from $15 upward the rate stays at 20% of sale price. Pricing at $15 instead of $14.99 saves relative fee drag only at that narrow breakpoint; higher-value items all face the same 20% commission rate.

Poshmark offers optional promoted closet features and Posh Shows live selling — ad and promotion costs sit outside the base commission modeled here. Seller discounts and bundle offers reduce your sale price and therefore reduce commission dollar amount, but the percentage or flat tier still applies to the discounted total the buyer pays for your item line.

Posh Ambassador and boutique seller programs do not change the core $2.95 / 20% schedule for standard closet sales. Tax reporting and 1099-K thresholds are separate compliance topics — this calculator focuses on commission math and optional item cost you enter for profit.

Worked examples: $45 sale with $12 item cost → $9 Poshmark fee (20%) → $24 net profit before taxes and any shipping promotions you fund. A $12 sale → $2.95 fee → $9.05 net on zero cost basis, but only $7.05 if you had $2 sourcing cost. Compare to Mercari or Depop if you sell sub-$20 fashion regularly — flat fees elsewhere may beat 20% on cheap items but lose on $50+ pieces.
