Service pricing has to cover more than product and chair time. Turnaround between clients, sanitation, consultation, rebooking admin, and no-shows all consume hours you cannot bill directly, so a price built only on the appointment length will quietly underpay you. If you rent a booth or run a space, divide fixed monthly costs across a realistic number of services rather than an optimistic full book. On the mixing side, ratios are a starting point only: manufacturers specify their own developer proportions, processing times, and volumes for each product line, and those instructions override any general figure — particularly for lightener, where deviating can damage hair or skin. Nothing here is cosmetology instruction, and licensing rules and permitted products differ by state and country.
