Personality Number Calculator

The personality number uses consonants only — every Latin letter in your name that is not A, E, I, O, or U. Each consonant gets its Pythagorean value, the consonants are summed, and the result is reduced with master numbers kept when they appear. Vowels are excluded entirely, which is the mirror opposite of soul urge calculation on the same name.

Numerology texts often describe personality as the "outer" layer — how others may perceive you on first meeting, or the social mask in symbolic language. It is not the same as astrological rising sign, which comes from birth time and horizon math. Personality number is name-based only.

Worked example: "Anna Lee" → consonants N, N, L → 5+5+3 = 13 → 1+3 = 4. The personality number is 4. Double consonants each count separately — "Anna" contributes N(5)+N(5). Spaces, hyphens, and punctuation are ignored; only A–Z letters matter after diacritics are stripped.

Together, expression + soul urge + personality form the basic Pythagorean name chart presented in most introductory books. When the three numbers diverge — for example, expression 7, soul urge 3, personality 4 — authors often describe tension between outward action, inner want, and first impression in interpretive readings.

Master numbers can appear when consonant subtotals hit 11, 22, or 33 before reduction. Compare personality from legal name versus nickname when consonant counts change because shortened names drop letters. "Robert" and "Bob" may yield different personality numbers even for the same person.

Names with many consonants cluster — Germanic or Slavic surnames with strings of consonants can push personality totals higher before reduction than vowel-heavy names of similar length. That mechanical difference is about letter counts, not about social skills or introversion in any scientific sense.

All-caps entry is fine — the calculator normalizes case before counting. Numbers and emoji in the name field are ignored; only A through Z letters contribute to the personality subtotal.
