Days Until Easter Calculator

Easter moves every year because Western Easter is a movable feast — the first Sunday after the ecclesiastical full moon on or after March 21. This calculator uses your browser's local calendar date to count whole days until the next Western (Gregorian) Easter Sunday from standard computus.

On Easter Sunday the headline reads "Easter is today." During Lent you see a shrinking day count toward that Sunday. After Easter passes, the tool automatically targets the following year — you never see a permanent zero countdown stuck on a date that already happened.

Only your device timezone determines "today" — not GPS location. Easter date math is the same worldwide for Western computus, so travelers see the same target Sunday; only the local date boundary at midnight may differ near the international date line.

Example: if today is Ash Wednesday 2026 (2026-02-18 for Western Easter 2026-04-05), the countdown shows roughly 46 days remaining. Near Holy Week the number drops quickly — useful for meal planning, choir rehearsals, and school break scheduling.
