Ready-to-wear clothing uses regional size labels that do not convert perfectly. Women's US sizes are often numeric (0, 4, 8…) or lettered (XS–XXL); EU uses numeric bust/waist approximations; UK uses its own even-number scale for women and chest inches for men.
This tool maps common letter and numeric US sizes to approximate EU and UK equivalents for tops and dresses. Dresses, jeans, and bras each use different charts — check the brand size guide for the garment type you are buying.
Example: women's US M (about size 8–10) ≈ EU 40, UK 12. Men's US M (36–38 in chest) ≈ EU 46, UK 36. Treat as a starting point, not a guarantee.
Common questions
Why doesn't EU 38 fit the same everywhere?
EU numbers on labels are not standardized body measurements — brands grade differently. Always check the brand's cm/in chart when available.
Does this cover jeans or bras?
No. This tool is for general tops/dress letter and numeric crosswalks. Jeans waist sizes and bra band/cup systems need separate charts.
What US number should I enter?
For women, enter numeric dress size (0, 2, 4…) — the tool maps to the nearest letter band. For men, enter chest measurement in inches (34, 36, 38…).
