A note on how the system works: Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, which is anchored to the seasons and the spring equinox rather than to the current position of the constellations. Because the Earth’s axis slowly precesses, the tropical signs no longer align with the constellations of the same name, which is why sidereal traditions such as Vedic astrology assign many people a different sun sign. Rising sign in particular depends on an accurate birth time and location, since it changes roughly every two hours, and our estimate is simplified rather than a full ephemeris-based chart. Mercury retrograde is a real and well-understood optical effect of orbital geometry, with no demonstrated influence on electronics or communication.
