Student planning tools for US-style grading: semester GPA on a 4.0 scale, weighted honors and AP GPA, the term GPA needed to hit a cumulative target, the final exam score required to reach a course grade, and study hours from credit load. Useful for mid-semester planning — verify your school’s exact grade scale and policies locally.
Two details decide whether these numbers match your transcript. The first is credit weighting: a GPA is an average weighted by credit hours, so a B in a four-credit lab moves your average more than an A in a one-credit seminar. The second is your school’s scale — some institutions award 4.3 for an A+, some cap at 4.0, and weighted scales for honors and AP courses vary between adding 0.5 and adding a full point. The final-exam tool is the one most worth running early: it tells you whether a target grade is still mathematically reachable while there is time to act, and sometimes the honest answer is that it is not.
