Business days between dates
A business day is typically Monday through Friday, excluding weekends. This calculator walks the calendar from the start date through the end date and counts weekdays only. If you swap the dates, the count stays the same.
Public holidays are not excluded — banks and offices in different countries observe different holidays. For a specific jurisdiction, subtract holidays manually or use a holiday-aware calendar.
Example: from Monday, July 27, 2026 to Friday, July 31, 2026 is 5 business days. From Friday, July 31 to the following Monday, August 3 is 2 business days (Friday and Monday).
Common questions
Are holidays excluded?
No. Only Saturday and Sunday are skipped. Subtract public holidays manually if your deadline excludes them.
Are the start and end dates included?
Both dates count if they fall on a weekday. A Monday-to-Monday span one week apart includes both Mondays.
