About Calcometry

Calcometry exists to help people get answers — a calculation, a conversion, or any other clear number — without getting in the way. Every tool is free, runs in your browser, and is built so you can leave with the result you came for.

What we care about

• Answers first. People come here for a result. The page should get you there quickly — clear inputs, a useful answer, and room to tweak when you need to.
• Simple language. Labels stay short and familiar. When something might be confusing, a short hint explains it in plain English so beginners aren't stuck and experts aren't slowed down.
• Content that earns its place. Explainers, examples, and FAQs are there when they help — not as filler. If it wouldn't interest someone who just got their answer, we cut it.
• Built for a global audience. We write in English for people everywhere. Where physical units matter, you can switch between systems (like US and metric). When a tool is tied to one country's rules or rates, we say so.

Where the formulas come from

We try to source formulas and rates whenever they depend on something published — a fee schedule, a health cutoff, a building standard, and so on — and we link to those sources on the page. For obvious math and well-known conversions (percentages, tips, miles to kilometers, Celsius to Fahrenheit, and the like), we skip the formal citation and keep the formula correct and easy to follow.
